  • Digital Safety Workshop

    February 25, 6:30-8 PM
    Oh!Canary

    For Middle School Parents

    We will be hosting a workshop for middle school parents called Parent Playbook: Keeping Kids Safe Online and On Devices, with Danielle Meah, local mom and cyber security expert.

    This workshop is geared towards Middle School Families to help better understand the various online threats and walk away with practical strategies to make all types of devices and online platforms safer for our children. Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions about specific devices and issues they are facing with their middle schoolers around this topic.

  • Clinton K-2 Parent Gathering

    Join us for our first parent gathering of the new year on Friday, February 27, 9–10am at The Player Agency. Stop in for coffee and conversation with other parents of younger children. We’ll discuss the topics that come up most for K–2 families and share resources and simple strategies for navigating them together.

  • Middle School Open Studio

    Join Oh! Canary and Team Unscreen for a Global Day of Unplugging Open Studio designed for 11-13 year olds and their grown-ups at Oh! Canary Studio in South Orange.
    Oh! Canary will offer: a selection of art and craft stations including a design lab with upcycled materials and cardboard tools, a make your own pom pom jewelry table, and a drawing and painting from observation station. All options facilitated by Oh! Canary artists and catered toward tweens/teens.
    Team Unscreen will offer: community, conversation, and connection to parents who wish to stick around! Team Unscreen volunteer leaders will be available and would love to enjoy a mocktail and connect over best practices, challenges, and perspectives on raising children in today's highly digitized world. TU Merch will be available as well. Space is limited so please reserve your spot now. We look forward to seeing you there.

  • Delia Bolden Game Night

    Sunday, March 22, 3:30-5:30 PM
    The Player Agency Cafe @ The Baird

    Join Bolden families for a family game afternoon at the Player Agency. Game play is fee and food and drinks are available for purchase. You’ll also have a chance to learn about Team Unscreen and the Wait Until 8th pledge. (This is the rescheduled date for the event that was originally scheduled in January)

  • Clinton Book Club

    Looking ahead to winter, we’re excited to launch a new book-club initiative. We’ll be reading 10 Rules for Raising Kids in a High-Tech World by Jean Twenge. Pick up a copy from Words Bookstore HERE or borrow one from the library. We’ll gather in Jan/Feb to discuss. More details to come!

Max Stossel is the Founder of Social Awakening, an organization dedicated to helping young people survive and thrive in the modern world.

Before working in this field Max was a media strategist with an extensive background in social media. In his talks, Max illustrates the specific ways it is is designed to be addictive & distracting, highlights how that's impacting our kids’ minds and gives recommendations on how to address some of the challenges you and your family are facing.
